The survey, reported by French media outlet Cointribune, indicates a shifting attitude towards traditional fiat salaries. The reasons behind this preference for crypto remuneration remain somewhat elusive, leaving Payfit's CEO Amaury Lelong to ponder over the intriguing results.
Interestingly, the enthusiasm for crypto salaries is more pronounced among younger characters, with 31% of individuals aged 18 to 35 expressing a strong inclination towards receiving their earnings in digital currencies. Furthermore, the survey highlights that men are more enthusiastic about crypto salaries, with nearly a quarter of male respondents embracing the idea.
However, the acceptance of crypto salaries appears to vary across different demographics. The data reveals that employees in larger companies are less receptive to the concept, with over 80% of individuals working in organizations employing over 500 staff members rejecting the notion. Similarly, 79% of the CSP+ demographic, which typically includes business owners, doctors, lawyers, and company executives, also expressed their disinterest in being paid in cryptocurrencies.
CEO Amaury Lelong raised an important question regarding the potential risks associated with the volatility of crypto assets, particularly in relation to the younger generation. Nevertheless, he believes that the survey results reflect a broader transformation in the relationship between work and finance, driven by technological advancements and social shifts.
